Xavier Institute of Engineering, Mumbai, the college was established in the year 2005 to offer minority Catholic students in India a technical education. The institute is managed by the Jesus, Jesuits, and is affiliated to Mumbai University and New Delhi. Xavier Institute of Engineering, Mumbai, offers Bachelor of Engineering course with specialization in Computer Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication, Information Technology courses. Admission to B.E/B.Tech candidates passed H.S.C. (Std. XII) Examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination and secured minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together and also appeared for the AIEEE/MHTCET/JEE examination and secured minimum qualifying marks. Minority Roman Catholics are allotted 50% of the seats, Institute Level Management 20%, and the remainder goes to general students on the basis of CET rankings. Each branch reserves one place each year for Kashmiri migrants who have left home due to the Kashmir conflict.
