The College of Technology and Engineering, Udaipur (CTAE) is a public Institute located at Udaipur in Rajasthan. GITS was established in 1964 as a part of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur. Recently College completed its 50 glorious year and celebrate 2014 as its Golden Jubliee year. The college was started in 1964 with a Graduate Programme in Agricultural Engineering. Presently the CTAE has undergraduate degree programmes in 8 branches, M.Tech. programmes in 12 disciplines, besides an MBA programme in Engineering and PhD programmes in 9 disciplines. The institute is recognized by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur.
The college has been recognized as Outstanding Engineering College in Northern Region and has been awarded “Outstanding Institution Award” in 2013 by National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh (a Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India, Institute). The college has a rich infrastructure with well-equipped laboratories in each department having modern state-of-art instruments/equipment to provide the hands-on training to the students. Besides laboratories, the college central workshop in the department of Mechanical Engineering is well equipped with modern machines, tools and other facilities to impart training to the students and help in project work.

For B.Tech - Admissions in B.Tech. courses for all seats (including 15% seats in Self-Financed courses for outside Rajasthan students on the basis of JEE Mains score and TFWS seats) are through centralized counselling by the Government of Rajasthan. This year the admission shall be done through the Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process (REAP-2015) conducted by Board of Technical Education, Government of Rajasthan. In REAP, admissions on 50 % seats shall be on the basis of JEE (Mains) Score and admission on 50% seats shall be on the basis senior secondary school marks. The minimum academic qualification for admission to B.Tech. program is, as per Govt. of Rajasthan Rules, a pass with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to “SC/ST/Non creamy layer OBC/ Non creamy layer SBC” of Rajasthan state) in the subjects combination as given below taken together, in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) of Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or any other examination recognized equivalent thereto by Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan / Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).Subject combination required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.Tech./B.E. courses shall be as Physics & Mathematics as Compulsory Subjects and any one of the optional Subjects out of the following: (1) Chemistry (2) Bio-technology (3) Computer Science (4) Biology.
