College of Foods and Nutrition (CFN), Ajmer is affiliated to the Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University. The college is promote the understanding of the science of Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics and their applications in promoting trained professionals as Nutritionists, Dietitians , Food Service Managers, Food Technologist, Food Product Development Staff for professional Institutions and Organizations.
The College has successfully organised several important seminars such as Evaluation and Assessment in Higher Education, Nutrition, Health and Population Links, Micronutrients in Human Health, Recent advances, Safe Motherhood and Reproductive Health, and Nutrition Education for Rural women.
PG-Diploma Courses in Dietetics and Institutional Food Service Management is a one year. Dietetics, like all scientific disciplines is an ever expanding and constantly evolving field. Perhaps no other subject except Nutrition and Dietetics has such close relationship to human health and therefore this Diploma course proves to be extremely beneficial; for students who can seek jobs as health workers, in Nutrition Intervention Programmes, as Dietitians in hospitals and other Institutions, open up their own Diet Counseling Centers, start NGO’s for initiating nutrition education programmes in communities and work in Catering Institutions.
M.Sc. in Foods and Nutrition, is a two years degree programme. At the M. Sc. level students receive theoretical and practical training in varied courses which lay emphasis on Advanced Human Physiology Instrumentation and Techniques in Nutrition Methodology and Technical writing, Nutrition Related Disorders ,Foods science , Food Analysis, Therapeutic Nutrition, Community Nutrition , Maternal and Child Nutrition, Quantity food production and service Computer applications, Food processing and Technology.
Eligibility:
Candidates having obtained 55 percent marks at Degree level in B.Sc. Home Science ( Pass/Hons. in Foods and Nutrition ) or B.Sc. in Foods and Nutrition or B.Sc. with Clinical nutrition and Dietetics and Chemistry with any other Science subject or B.Sc. with Diploma in Dietetics.
