The MBBS Admissions at Armed Force Medical College (AFMC) are offered through a National level competitive exam, known as All India Preliminary Medical Test . However, apart from appearing and securing a minimum cut-off in AIPMT exams, the candidates seeking admissions to MBBS program at AFMC, Pune also must register themselves at www.afmc.nic.in . Managed by Indian Armed Forces, AFMC is also the first medical institute in India and it offers various undergraduate (U.G.) medical courses such as MBBS, B.D.S, nursing (ANM, GNM) and post-graduate courses such as M.D., M.S., dental postgraduates, nursing and paramedical. Students after completion of their MBBS course from this institute can work for at least for 7 years as Doctors in armed forces. The entrance exam is conducted every year.
A candidate seeking admission to the MBBS course is eligible to take the entrance examination if he/she fulfills the following criteria:
Candidate must have passed all the subjects opted for in the first attempt of the qualifying examinations as a regular candidate with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken simultaneously and securing not less than 60% of the aggregate marks in these 3 science subjects taken together and not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in each of the science subjects. They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics of the 10th standard.
Applicants, who meet the conditions of eligibility and wish to apply, can fill the AFMC online Admission form via its authorized web portal- www.afmc.nic.in. Enter all the details required precisely and submit this form. Take a print out of it and attach the copies of other vital credentials along with it. After enclosing all these together in an envelope, send it to the college campus or the announced address within the prescribed last dates. Applications reaching after the scheduled last date of receiving application will not be entertained.
Selection Process:
The MBBS admissions of AFMC for 2017 will be based on All India Pre Medical Test – AIPMT 2017 to be conducted by the CBSE . Keen aspirants may enroll themselves through aipmt.nic.in. However, aspirants must also apply separately to AFMC online from (soon available). Applicants, who clear this AIPMT 2017, with satisfying scores will only be allowed for attending the counseling round at AFMC.
