The Department of education of Rajasthan plays a vital role in the development of the state. It lay the foundation from the elementary education itself. For providing the elementary education to all the childrens without discrimination of cast, creed religion etc. the government has started Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. SSA is Government of India's flagship programme for achievement of Universalization of Elementary Education (UEE) in a time bound manner, as mandated by 86th amendment to the Constitution of India making fee and compulsory Education to the Children of 6-14 years age group.
This department look over the entire education system of Rajasthan in colaboration with the Union Grant Commisison(UGC). Presently Smt Naseem Aktar Insaf is the education minister of Rajasthan and Dr. Veena Pradhan is the director of the department of education of Rajasthan. Different scheme have been undertaken to to fullfill the different goals in the field of Education. Dy Secretory of Education is the Nodal Officer of this Department
