St. Margaret Engineering College in Alwar

Saint Margaret Engineering College (SMEC) is a private engineering college located at RIICO Institutional Area, Neemrana on Jaipur highway in Alwar (Rajasthan). The college is affiliated to the Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, Rajasthan and approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. SMEC was established in the year 2002 by Saint Margaret Education Society.

• Hostel – SMEC has well furnished lodging facilities for a total of 600 boys (4 Hostels) and 150 girls (3 Hostels) on the campus.
• Library – We are having 2833 titles and 23144 no. of volumes in our library. In addition to this we subscribes to 100 (63 — National and 37—International) printed Journals and 19 Magazines and 07 Newspapers
• Innovation Centre – This is the place where students convert their ideas and imagination into reality. Here the students develop different projects under the guidance of the expert faculty
• Transport – The college has a fleet of buses to transport the students from nearby places like Rewari, Bhiwadi, Shahjahanpur, Narnaul.
• Gym – To get and stay physically fit there is a well equipped gym in the Boys Hostel where the students can go to work out to increase their energy levels, their strength and endurance.
• Health Care – On campus a well-equipped dispensary attended by qualified doctors.
• Bank – State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur Branch is on the campus with A.T.M facility for the convenience of students.

Admission Procedure

For B.Tech - For B.Tech - The minimum academic qualification for admission to B. Tech./B.E. program in Rajasthan is a pass with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to "SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/SBC (Non Creamy layer)" of Rajasthan state) in the subjects combination as given below taken together, in the final examination of 10+2 (Phy., Chem., Maths) of Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or any other examination recognized equivalent thereto by Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan / Central Board of secondary Education (CBSE). The admissions will be made strictly as per RTU guidelines.

For Lateral Entry(B.Tech.-II yr) - Ten percent of the sanctioned intake in each discipline of I year B.Tech. is reserved for admission in II year B.Tech. for Diploma in Engineering (in concerned branch) and B.Sc. with Maths (as a subject) with minimum 45% for General and 40% for ST/SC/OBC. The Centralized Admission Coordination will fill up these seats through counseling, after inviting applications from the eligible candidates through LEEP (Lateral Entry in Engineering & Pharmacy).

For M.Tech - Admissions to the M. Tech course are done directly on the basis of merit. Whereas eligibility is B.E. / B.Tech. with 55% marks and 50% marks in case of SC/ST candidates, GATE qualified candidate are preferred.
